I understand it’s a technique, but I have a love/hate relationship with it as I hear three songs rather than enjoying a singular song. Although, and perhaps it is just me, the shifting style can be a little off-putting, especially when you get in the groove. Lord Pretty Flacko Jodye 2 (LPFJ2) is sonically immersive with a seriously cool musical element. Hence, I feel indifferent to JD and only question that if JD wasn’t included, would it be missed? I’m not sure it would be. JD is so short that I never feel as though it’s a complete song but more an interlude between songs. The inclusion of Excuse Me partway through the music video is a masterful transition but as much as I enjoy L$D, I find that the music video doesn’t present a value-added opportunity to appreciate the song more than I already do, so beyond this review, I likely won’t watch it again. Plus, the double entendre isn’t lost on anyone and ultimately plays into the psychedelic journey of the song and the music video ( Explicit/ Clean). Subsequently, if you could incorporate these three elements into a single song, then A$AP Rocky has succeeded in doing just that.
L$D is an incredibly mellow tune, and its acronym can be expanded to Love, Sex, Dreams. Joe Fox x Future x M.I.A.) is beautifully controlled and will test the responsiveness of your stereo or headphones as Fine Whine exhibits incredible dynamics.
